Prescriptives PX Intensive Rebuilding Moisturizer
I tried a sample of Prescriptives Intensive Rebuilding Moisturizer over the past few evenings. I normally use Estee Lauder Daywear and am quite happy with it as a day product, but I have been interested in finding something without SPF for night use. I also use a Retin-A product at night and could use some extra moisture with that. I had read some good things about the Prescriptives Intensive Rebuilding Moisturizer, including its focus on hyaluronic acid (binds moisture) and glucosamine (recently shown to have positive effects on discoloration). I am also already a fan of their Skin Tone Correcting Serum from their PX line. So when I received a sample, I was excited to try it.
I was quite impressed. In fact, I was so impressed that I went to the Prescriptives site to possibly purchase some, but then paused. More on that in a bit….
The moisturizer feels wonderful. It goes on without feeling greasy, yet really packs a punch when it comes to fighting dry skin. I had been waking up a bit dry and flaky after using Retin-A, and found that I woke with no dryness or tightness. The flakes were gone! After just a few uses I felt hooked. My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the product has a slight almond smell. That is not my choice of aroma in a product, but I can live with it.
Thinking I had found my perfect night cream, I went to the prescriptives site to make a purchase. That is when I saw the $95 price tag (for 2 ounces). Hmmmmm, now I am left wondering whether I like this stuff $95 worth. My old system wasn’t failing, I just like this stuff better.
For now I will likely wait because I have several more samples to try and might find something a bit cheaper. But in the end, I just might decide that this cream is actually worth the price tag.
