200 5 Revlon Cream Blush Review

Revlon Cream Blush

I have been really into cream blush lately. I like how it tends to stay longer than powder blush, and if applied right, it looks more natural. For a bit of extra glow and staying power, I will sometimes brush some Flirt! Blush or shimmering bronzer over it. Another trick I like is to apply it over a skin highlighter such as Neutrogena Shimmer Sheers .

Right now a current and quite affordable favorite is Revlon Cream Blush With Pop-Up Mirror, in Rosy Glow. I also have the same product in Just Peachy, a new light peach color that I have seen in only a few stores (I found mine at Osco).

The Revlon cream blush has a very nice, non-oily texture and I find that it blends quite well. Another thing I love about this blush is that it is a matte color. It seems like so many of the current cream blushes are packed full of shimmer. A little shimmer is OK, but I tend to prefer matte and like to add any shimmer separately. The Just Peachy shade is a very light peach. It is pretty warm and also very, very light, so the shade won’t work for everyone.

The Rosy Glow shade is a very nice neutral pink/rose color. It works well on my fair skin and I imagine that it would work quite well on any skin that ranges from light to medium. Those with darker skin could run into problems though because the product does have a downside. It is not nearly as pigmented as some other (generally more expensive) brands. Even on my fair skin, I often find myself either putting quite a bit on or wearing it as a very sheer blush. So I fear that it would never show up on darker skin! The lack of pigment is also the biggest complaint about the product at Makeup Alley. Some there also felt that it faded too quickly, but I have been OK with that as long as I add a touch of powder (usually powder blush) over it to set it.

In the realm of drugstore cream blush, the Rosy Glow shade is my favorite. But for a more pigmented color, I like a higher end brand. When the need to use less product is considered, a well pigmented higher end brand can actually be an equal value. One of my current favorites there is Paula Dorf Cheek Color Cream Blush.

I’ve used #03 “Not So Nude” for a few months now but cannot find it anymore in the stores. Please let me know if it’s still available anywhere.

Is there any color that is close to your #03 “Not so Nude”. I can’t find that anywhere so would like one with similar color. GREAT color!
