Review: Lumene Premium Beauty Rejuvenating Makeup
Recently, I wrote about a number of Lumene Skin Care Products. Lumene also produces makeup and I just love their Lumene Premium Beauty Rejuvenating Makeup. This product is available at CVS Pharmacies and it is my new favorite foundation.Although marketed for women over 50, the Lumene Rejuvenating Foundation is ideal for anyone with either dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles, or concerns about preventing fine lines and wrinkles. What I love most about this foundation is that it is very comfortable to wear. It provides a good measure of moisture and never feels dry or heavy. It blends well and has good staying power, again without ever getting heavy or sticky. I also had no issues with it settling into my pores or lines. Coverage is medium and I found that while a bit of my hyperpigmented areas from melasma showed through, the coverage was quite acceptable for me in terms of what I expect for normal everyday use.
A side bonus of this makeup, and why the company has chosen to target it at a later age group, is that it contains a peptide complex of Hexapeptide-8 (argireline)and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 (matrixyl). Here is an article from Healthy Aging that describes various peptide complexes pretty well. These are a couple of the complexes that have some documentation of effectiveness in wrinkle treatment. At the age of 40 and with wrinkles coming on, being able to provide some treatment actives to my skin through my makeup is quite attractive to me and is what led me to initially purchase the Lumene foundation.
Overall, I love this makeup! in many ways, it feels similar to my other current favorite Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme. But at $22 for the Lumene product as compared to $35 for Estee Lauder, and with the additional treatment actives in it, the Lumene foundation is the better product and better value. If you have dry and aging skin, or have normal to dry skin and want some peptide action from your foundation, give this one a try.

I might try this. I wish it had more coverage, though. I’ve had a hard time finding anything that covers really well. Suggestions for that?

Kylee, have you tried Jane Iredale minerals? They make one that is a liquid and I am told that it has fabulous coverage. I haven’t personally tried it (yet) though. Also, with both the Lumene and Estee Lauder, I add a bit of powder mineral makeup just over the hyperpigmented areas and that covers them pretty well.
