This unique collection of shimmering eye and cheek colors is probably best tried in the store. It is hard to tell what the color will look like on the skin by looking at pictures or even by looking at the pots, because each pot contains several colors swirled together. The collection also include four new lip glass shades.
The mineralize eye shadows are very shimmery, with a metallic aspect to them. I really like the shade By Jupiter, which ends up on the lids as a light metallic copper brown. The color built well and looked gorgeous. I would save it more for evening though. Kylee tried the shade Mercurial, which in the pot, appears to have purple, lavender and peach, but it came out pink on her lids, which is not the best color for her. Kylee said that it was a bit more shimmery than she likes for everyday, but for evening wear, it would probably be just right. She reported that it was easy to apply and get the right amount just where she wanted it, using a small looser-bristled eyeshadow brush.
The mineralize skinfinish is neat stuff. I tried Northern Light both as a highlighter and as a blush. It is a sheer, but buildable color, which makes it quite versatile. It has some shimmer, but does not at all overdo it. Kylee tried the shade Global Glow, which is much more along the lines of a bronzer. She had this to say about it:
This surprised me. I have never used a bronzer before and have stayed away from them for fear of looking like a polished Egyptian statue. Using a light touch, this looked NICE. It gave me a lightly tanned look and if I kept it light, I didn’t get that overly-shimmered look that I feared. I could see using this alone as a quick foundation when I didn’t want to take the time to apply my usual base foundation, because even using it lightly, it actually covered about as well as my usual foundation. Pleasantly surprised with it!
Finally, more lipglass shades are always a good thing! I am a big fan of M.A.C lipglass, and I particularly liked the Perfectly Pink shade. Kylee who hadn’t tried lipglass before, noted the initial stickiness that it can have, but also that it lasted longer than many glosses , which is why I love the stuff so much. She said: “It’s sheer, giving your lips a casual but polished tint, and has just the right amount of glimmer to it.
This is a neat collection. If you can get to a M.A.C store to see it in person, I highly recommend doing so.
