I grabbed this gold Essie nail polish awhile back when ULTA had buy two get one free. I had two purple shades (that I still need to review) and got the gold on impulse when the clerk told me that I could have a freebie. Of course I got home and wondered when the heck I was really going to wear gold nails, so I stuck it away somewhere and forgot about it. I thought of it today when trying to come up with a festive shade for the New Year.

Essie makes great polish, it applies well and lasts well. The gold shade, Shift Power, is pretty nice. It isn’t quite as overwhelming metallic as I have seen in a few other gold shades. It also is a great party shade!
