Prescriptives Well Suited Collection Eye Palette

Prescriptives has a great collection out that is perfect for fall, the Prescriptives Well Suited Collection. I received a Prescriptives Well Suited Eye Color Compact in cool shades and love the colors.

The shades are very well pigmented and perfect for a fall daytime or evening look. They remind me quite a bit of the shades in one of my favorite Dior Five Colour Compacts, but at a better price. Below are swatches from the Prescriptives palette:

The Well Suited collection also includes a limited edition Prescriptives Finishing Powder that is rather nice. Look for Prescriptives counters at most better department stores.

Mascara Monday: Pur Minerals Mascara

Pur Minerals is not exactly the company I would think of for mascara, after all, their focus is on mineral makeup. But I gave a sample of Pur Minerals Mascara a try and it is a pretty darn good basic mascara.

The brush on this one is of standard size. The formulation worked well for me in terms of very nice definition and lengthening, and not so much in terms of volume, which is actually my preference in a mascara. I had no clumping, and the mascara wore well without smudging. It removed just fine with a makeup remover cloth.

Pur advertises this one as particularly contact lens friendly, with no tar or fibers. At $15.50, it is a mid-range price mascara, and its quality fits that price range pretty well.

Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette

As part of my Bobbi Brown shopping spree, I grabbed up a Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette . I can’t resist neutral eye shades and I really love the ones in this collection.

The Nude Eye Palette has a nice mix of thee matte shades and three shimmer shades. The darkest matte works as a liner. The shadows are finely milled, so use a good brush, and you will find that they can be built in intensity fairly well. But mostly I like them sheer for a natural look with a hint of shimmer. If I had to choose one palette to live on, this would be the one. It works great for day and the shimmer use can be increased for evening.

Above are swatches from the palette. The shades are: Navajo/Pebble, Chino/Beige Linen Wash and Maple Sugar/Caviar. They are exclusive to the set. The Bobbi Brown Nude collection won’t be around forever, so if you like this, get it now!
