Boo Boo Cover-Up: Conceal Those Ouchies!

Thursday, July 14th, 2011

Have you ever gotten a mosquito bite, scratch, or rash from a plant that you wished you could cover up without worrying about making it worse? Boo Boo Coverup is a good solution for that.  This concealing cream contains  Aloe, Chamomile, Green Tea, Tea Tree Oil and Vitamin E to help sooth the area, while concealing it.

Medium-Box-Final

I’m a runner (shameless plug and backlink here for my new running gear site!) and somehow I managed to get what I think is a chigger bite while out running a few weeks ago. Yes,  know that chiggers live in grass and I was on a bike path, but it sure looked like and itched like a chigger bite. Anyway, I figured that was as good of a time as any to try out the Boo Boo Cover-Up that I was sent in shade medium. It worked pretty darn well! The cream concealed the red area on my leg and the ingredients sure didn’t make it worse. I tried it later on a standard mosquito bite and felt that it actually made it feel better. The medium shade will work well for quite a few skin tones.

So, as an outdoorsy type of person, I definitely am keeping this item around. It is useful to have!

Kat Von D True Romance Angeles Palette Swatches

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

I ordered the Kat Von D Angeles Eye Shadow Palette from Sephora since I thought the colors looked up my alley and I had been wanting to try some Kat Von D products.  I do like the shades in this quite a bit, but unfortunately, my palette arrived with broken shadow, so I have to return it. On the good side, Sephora always is great about returns and have free return shipping.   Anyway, I decided to go ahead and make swatches first since things were not so muddied up in the breakage to prevent me from doing that. But I didn’t try actually wearing the shadow. The Kat Von D reviews on the Sephora website are excellent though, with people reporting great pigmentation and wear.

Below are Kat Von D True Romance Angeles Swatches: From right to left are the shades Morphine (cream), Venus, Leather, Specimen, Rehab, Peggy, Bukowski, and Bellbottom. Note that in the photo of the palette, the cream shade Morphine is at the far right. I moved it to the far left when I swatched because I was running out of room on my arm. Everything else is in order

The cream shade in this set is particularly nice, as are the browns. Everything had good pigment. The blues were what had broken, so that made getting swatches of them without mixing shades a bit challenging, but I think the photo is true to color.

Buy the True Romance Angeles Palette.
