today we have a reader/guest review of a classic NARS Eye shadow Palette. You really can’t go wrong with this one!
This updated version of the Nars Night Series palette includes all of my old favorites, plus some great new additions to the Night Series shades. The palette features six colors and a full-sized mirror. The range of colors vary from light to dark, with a mix of matte and sparkly for day-time to night-time looks. As always, NARS products are always great quality. One thing that I love about the night shadows is that they are packed with large spangles of glitter: it makes the product really stand out on my eye. You can taper the shade up to the brow bone for an extra-dramatic look. The glitter really sticks to your skin and doesn’t go all over your face. The eye shadows are also highly pigmented, not pearly, so you don’t need to use a lot of product – a little goes a long way.
One of my favorite shades is Night Star. It’s a light golden pearly shade, which gives a really feminine and pretty look. It makes a beautiful highlighter in conjunction with another shade, or just by itself. Night Lavender is a pale lilac shade with embedded glitter, though it wears on the skin a lot darker than how it looks in the pan. The glitter used in the product is larger than most glitter shadows I own, but it doesn’t bother my skin at all, the shadow is almost weightless above my eyes. Night Clubbing is a Derby green shade – I actually own Night Clubbing as a separate shade – and it’s best feature is the mixability. You can put different shades of base underneath it and the tone will shift to complement it.
I love palettes because they’re so versatile. I can wear any of these shades with highlighter underneath or on their own. I can apply them dry, or with a damp brush for extra impact. Although the majority of colors on this NARS palette are quite dramatic and more suitable for an evening look, the paler shades can be worn with a white base to soften them – making them suitable for a day look too. Although some of the colors are quite similar to Urban Decay, the unique large chunks of glitter make this product really stand out from the crowd. The shadow is really high quality, doesn’t crease and stays on the eyelid for hours without dropping. You can get a great smoky eye effect from this palette, or become a disco queen! Highly recommended for women who love glitter, or those of us who simply love to make a dramatic entrance.
