I love Burt’s Bees products, especially their lip shimmers, which are great for adding a hint of color to your lips, while also getting the benefits of a moisturizer. The lip shimmers are 100% natural and contain Shea Butter for moisture, along with fruit oils to add an antioxidant punch. They also contain Vitamin E and Beeswax and are enriched with Sunflower and Coconut Oils. The lip shimmers are available in 15 shades and have a peppermint flavor.
Burt’s Bees also makes some 100% natural lip glosses that have rich colors and are super moisturizing. The level of pigment is quite good in them. There are 12 shades available.
In the following video, celebrity make-up artist Katey Denno shows beauty blogger, Alexis Wolfer from The Beauty Bean, how to use Burt’s Bees lip shimmer and lip gloss to perfectly compliment her warm complexion.
The video features Burts Bees Rubarb Lip Shimmer and Lipgloss in Starry Night. When layered or mixed together, they create a new and beautiful lip shade.
Notice in the video that relatively cool, purplish color products were used, even though Alexis has warm toned skin. They also looked fabulous on her. I tend to like mixing cooler shades with warm complexions and vice versa. You do not have to get stuck in the idea that if you have warm or cool skin tones that you absolutely must wear certain colors. Try going outside of the norm and experiment with new things, you might be surprised at what looks good on you that you never tried before. Sometimes the contrast of tones can really make your look stand out!
Also consider mixing colors as was done in the video. Layering a gloss over a shimmer can deepen and change the overall color. You can also layer multiple shimmers or mix multiple glosses to create just the color and look that is perfect for you.
