Drugstore Glam Makeup Look

drugstore glam makeup look
This is a fun group project. Some beauty bloggers got together to each create a drugstore glam makeup look. Now, I admit that I’m not glam dressed at all! I have on a white T-shirt and jeans, but I love this makeup look for either a casual or a glam look. They key I think is the NYX lips.

What I love about doing these looks is that through affordable products, you can achieve a look that is just as good as using more expensive brands. For example take a look at this fellow bloggers post on makeup dupes for some top examples.

Here are the products I used:

Foundation: L’Oreal True Match in Soft Ivory (this might have been a press sample, I can’t remember!). I like it for a light sheer look.

Eyeliner: Milani Liquif’Eye in Brown. Milani makes really nice soft liners that rival much more expensive brands.

Eyeshadow: Flower Smoke and Mirrors Quad. You can get Flower at Walmart. It has pretty darn good pigment and I love the taupey matte shade in this set. It does tend to have a bit more fall out than I like though, so it takes some care in applying. Here is a closer look at my palette:

Mascara: Revlon Lash Potion: This was a press sample that just randomly showed up in the mail one day. I don’t even know what agency sent it to me! I used it for the first time for this look and it is a pretty nice mascara. Good length, no clumps, no flakes. I’m happy!

Blush: Elf All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade. For a dollar, this product is awesome! It is a cream blush that can also be used on the lips. I love the light pink shade.

Lips: I lined my lips with NYX  hot red lip liner. Then I applied my super favorite NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo. The soft matte lip creams are wonder products in my opinion. They look fabulous and wear for a ridiculously long time. I’m starting to wrinkle a fair amount on my lip edges too and this sits nicely over that instead of sinking in an making that even more noticeable.

Powder: I used a Sephora brand powder, which technically isn’t drugstore. I couldn’t find a drugstore one around, even though I know I own (and like) a L’Oreal True Match one.

So, here is my look. As is standard for me, the eye shadow really doesn’t show well. I’m just too darn squinty in photos, but I didn’t get fancy with it anyway. I just did a nice wash with matte taupe and a bit of a cream highlight.

Whenever I go outside to take selfies, invariably an assistant comes along. So here is my standard assistant photo as well.

  1. I love that lip shade! And I admit I’m almost always dressed in jeans and a t-shirt too! 🙂 I have also heard a lot of people love that Pink Lemonade stick and for $1, you can’t go wrong!!

  2. I love your look! It’s so cute 🙂 Unless I’m going out, I tend to wear jeans and a cute shirt – be it geek, gamer, or some fandom.

  3. very pretty, and great for daytime, and that lip colour is to die for! And why not just wear comfy jeans and a tee. That’s the best part about blogging! 🙂
