Youngblood Creme Powder Foundation Review

Youngblood Mineral Radiance Creme Powder Foundation rather impressed me. In fact, I would say that it is my new favorite in the cream to powder area. I was sent a sample in the shade Neutral to try and came away quite happy.

The foundation comes with an application sponge that works just fine. I actually applied mine a bit on the heavy side with the sponge and then buffed it out with a dense stippling brush (the new Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush). The foundation applies smoothly and it blends and buffs wonderfully. I have taken issue with some cream to powder formulas in that regard, so the nice application was definitely noted. Coverage was sheer to medium.

The foundation also wore well. Initially, I felt it was perhaps settling into my fine lines and wrinkled areas a bit too much, but I let it sit for a few minutes before using powder, which seemed to do the trick. It just needed to get settled. Even though this is a “cream to powder” formula, I did use a finishing powder. The foundation wore well all day, so I was quite happy with it.

I usually wear shades that are right in between fair and light. Neutral worked quite well for me. Overall, I give the product a big thumbs up!

MAC Carine Roitfeld Jungle Camouflage Swatches, Review, and Video

Carine Roitfeld, Editor in Chief of CR Fashion-Book, has a fall collaboration with MAC cosmetics. Included in the collection two palettes that consist of 4 eye shadows and a cream blend blush. I received the Jungle Camoflage version, so here is a quick review, with a set of swatches and video.

The shadow shades in this set are matte, which I rather like. However, the cream blush is not useful for me as it is a rather dark shade for my skin tone. There is no choice involved in your blush shades with these, and the blush in each one is brown tone, so be warned that it might not work for you.

L’Oreal Youth Code BB Cream Illuminator

L’Oréal Paris has released a BB Cream Illuminator, inspired by the BB trend in Asia. The Youth Code BB Cream Illuminator acts as a multi-tasker, by illuminating, correcting, and moisturizing the skin in one step. The product uses light reflecting particles and a slight tint to mask imperfections and visibly improve uneven skin tone. Moisture is included as well, and the product provides long-term hydration, along with SPF 15 protection. It has a soft, creamy texture and provides even-looking skin from day to night.

Youth Code BB Cream Illuminator comes in two tints, light and medium, and it will work for most skin tones. It has a floral scent and is safe for skin tones.

The product also contains ingredient to improve skin tone over time. L’Oréal reports that, over time, skin is healthier looking and tone and texture are improved and skin is healthier looking.
