Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Review

This is a reader/guest review of Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream.  Thanks, Natalia for the review!

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream

I am absolutely in love with Camera Ready BB Cream by Smashbox. BB cream is a state of the art cream from Asia that acts as a foundation, concealer, moisturizer and primer. This product has coverage you can build upon, so if you have any acne scarring, blemishes, or other imperfections, you can simply rub in more cream. I tend to use this product with a medium coverage that effortlessly smoothes out my face.

Smashbox's BB cream is creamy and smooth for easy application and I love how it makes the skin glow. Unlike foundations and powders, BB cream does not dry up even the most sensitive skin. Instead, it will hydrate and nourish dry skin, maybe even improve it after a few months of use. My dry skin is no longer a problem once I started using this cream, it is very nourishing. This light cream also has SPF 15 in its ingredients, so its the perfect product to wear even during the hot dog days of summer. After wearing it for a few weeks, I noticed it also absorbs your face's natural oils so it won't get greasy during warm days.

Camera Ready BB Cream is available in 5 different color shades. I use the fairest shade and it blends in nicely with my porcelain complexion, you can't even tell I'm wearing makeup. I have only one concern about this product, I needed to touch it up after about 5 to 7 hours during the day. The cream might wear off a bit if you are out and about, so you might want to take it with you in your purse. Its small and compact size is perfect for travel. If you prefer, you can also dab a small amount of powder on your face to let it stick better.

Overall, Smashbox's Camera Ready BB Cream is an amazing experience for those that want to try a new kind of makeup that will replace their foundation and concealer completely.

Best Beauty Products of 2012

Urban Decay Naked Skin, with the Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush: Naked skin wears incredibly well and, when applied and buffed with the optical blurring brush, it gives a flawless airbrushed look. It has become my all time favorite foundation.

Lorac Unzipped: This was the best of the nude/neutral palettes this year. A perfect selection of matte and shimmer shades.

Laura Mercier Artist Eyes Palette: A wonderful all around palette with shades perfect for just about any occasion.

Fyrinnae Eye Shadow: This indie company offers unique blends of high pigment micas and oxides for stunning shadow looks. Try their Pixie Epoxy for making super glittery shadows stay put!

Urban Decay Vice Palette: Who can resist a palette full of new UD shades? This one was a winner all around.

Nars Lahasa: Simply a beautiful purple dark taupe. Love it!

MAC Nail Lacquers: I love MAC nail polish and was glad to see them make a number of shades part of their regular collection.

Urban Decay Smoked Palette: Another winning palette from Urban Decay. This one offers all that you need for sultry smoky looks.

L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow: High pigment lightly pressed shadow at decent prices and readily available. Great for those who love pigments but want to save a few dollars.

Skin79 BB Cream: My favorite BB cream this year. It covers well and wears wonderfully.

Darling Girl Eye Shadow: Another indie brand with great pigment and a silky smooth formula. I like their base formulation quite a bit for a loose shadow. I also found a taupe that I am in love with among the samples that I ordered.

Cinderella Palette: A surprisingly good eye shadow palette that is more grown up than you would expect. Nice shades in an attractive package.

Lorac Pro Palette: Another wonderful all around eye shadow palette with a great selection of useful shades.

Essie Luxe Effects Top Coat and Bikini So Teeny: Bikini So Teeny was my favorite polish shade of the year, and a Luxe Effects top coat looked great over it!

The Balm Shady Lady Vol. 2: The Balm is seriously underrated in my opinion. The Shady Lady Volume 2 was one of their palettes that I tried this year and I found it to be super pigmented, with little fallout and long wear.

Youngblood Creme Powder Foundation: A very nice cream foundation that very well might have become my new favorite if Naked skin hadn't come into the picture. I still wear this one a lot too, especially when I want something more portable.

Silk’n Flash and Go: The hot new product in permanent home hair removal. This one can be used on the face.  See our comparison to the Tria for decisions on which to buy (I love the Tria too).

Smashbox Masterclass: A super palette of shadows, blush, lip products, and highlighters. It is all that you need for any look with quality products.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Liquid Foundation Review

Below is a guest review of Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Foundation.

Recently, I ran out of foundation, and ran frantically to Target, sans make-up and in my pajamas to get some. After what seemed like thirty minutes of testing and reading labels of foundations, attempting to match my skin color and skin type, I finally decided on Maybelline Instant Age Rewind.  (You can find it here!).

Maybelline Instand Age Rewind Foundation

This liquid foundation matched my skin color near flawlessly. It was also very easy to find a color that matched, as there were many options available. Additionally, it blended easily, not drying out before it was spread and not being overly greasy. While I do not yet have wrinkles or signs of aging affecting my skin, I found that Maybelline Instant Age Rewind makes me look a few years younger by giving my skin a bit of a healthy "glow". This foundation also reduced the severity of darkness under my eyes, and covered some of my facial imperfections such as chicken pox scars, acne scars, and minor skin discolorations. I use this foundation as part of my daily make-up routine, after my concealer.

The best way I have found to apply it has been with a cosmetic sponge, dabbing gently and spreading the coverage evenly across my face. With how wonderful this product makes my face look, I am also very excited that it helps me keep my face looking healthy; protecting it from the sun's harmful rays. This foundation has sunscreen included in it so I don't have to spend time putting any on. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 18! It also contains Goji Berry and caffeine which help keep my skin looking young and refreshed every day. I recommend this product to all my friends and family members. My grandmother even recently started using Maybelline Instant Age Rewind liquid foundation. While she is always beautiful in my eyes, I have never seen her look more radiant!
