Canyon Ranch Balance Light Weight Moisture Lotion

204206 Canyon Ranch Balance Light-Weight Moisture is a nice light moisturizer with no parabens, mineral oil, petroleum, alcohol or added color. I got mine in my last edition of Beauty Fix (I love Beauty Fix! Link is to a previous review).

Overall, Canyon Ranch moisturizer has a nice, soft, luxurious feel. Yet it is light and absorbs quickly. It is perfect for oily to normal skin. It also includes anti-aging ingredients. I have read one Canyon Ranch review where the author had an acne breakout after using the SPF version of this moisturizer. I have had no problem though, and am quite acne prone. So, I guess there are some mixed results in that department. Personally, I love the product.

I curious about the rest of the Canyon Ranch skincare line now. I will have to see about trying a few more of their skin care products.

Note: This review is based on a product given to me by a representative of the company (via Beauty Fix). For more, please see my disclosure page.

Kronos Phyx Overnight Conditioner

Kronos Phyx Kronos Phyx is certainly the most unique hair conditioners that I have tried. It also is the absolute best that I have tried, beating out even my other darling conditioner, Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment (read review).

First, why this is unique: Kronos Phyx is a leave in, overnight treatment that will not rub off or otherwise make a mess. The conditioner is applied to dry hair and it absorbs very quickly, leaving no film to rub off on sheets and pillowcases. There is no particular scent, and not a whole lot is needed for a full application. While on, it goes to work, providing deep conditioning.  Wash it out in the morning to find extremely soft well behaved hair.

It is nothing short of amazing and my dry, color treated hair does wonderfully with it. Best yet, using Phyx several times per week just intensifies the results. Now compare that to Ojon, which is also truly wonderful stuff in terms of results, but its also a stinky, greasy mess that is difficult to use too often because of the time commitment to sitting around all day with oily hair.  Needless to say, since I discovered Phyx, my jar of Ojon is getting used much less often.

Of course many good things still have a downside, and Phyx cannot escape that. It is expensive. At $105 for a fairly small bottle, it really is a luxury item. Not a ton of product is needed for each application, so it will last a bit, but nevertheless, it won’t fit in every woman’s budget.

I got my bottle in the first edition of Beauty Fix (read review). If you would like to try it at a cut rate, I suggest checking that out, because as long as the first edition remains available, you can get a bottle along with a number of other great items for $50.

Beauty Fix is a great subscription service that delivers a sampling of full size of deluxe sample size products every three months (Read Review). Now you can win the first edition package from the service (this is not a contest for a full subscription, just for the first offering).  It contains approximately $400 worth of great products, including one of the best hair conditioners I have ever tried—Kronos Phyx. I’ll have a review of that up soon.

Beauty Fix: Your Subscription for Beauty Products

If you like to try new beauty products, Beauty Fix is a great deal. For $50 each quarter, you receive a nice little case filled with full size or large sized samples of a variety of products. The items are chosen by a panel of beauty experts, so you can trust that you are getting some good stuff!

I received one to take a look at and boy was I impressed!

Beauty Fix Samples

For $50, there is a lot of product in the shipment, and it is good product too. No junk items. The first Beauty Fix kit advertises that it contains $400 worth of items. It also comes with a nice informational book that describes the items and how to use them.  As a Beauty Fix member, you are able to order products at a discount and take part in reviews and forums on the Beauty Fix website.

As a side note, a year or so ago, I tried out the New Beauty Test Tube, which is a similar type of program, except that it has less product and less information. I eventually canceled that because I wanted a bit more quality. Beauty Fix has done what I was looking for back then. So if you are one of those who was unhappy with the Test Tube items, or if you like the Test Tube but want even more product and a better value, you might want to give Beauty Fix a try.
