Style & Spa Chicago Skin Care Lines and Launch Party

Style&Spa Chicago has launched an all natural skin care line in the Chicago area, available at its spa locations and at Chicago area Walgreens.

serenityhydratravelerskit

Below is the company information about the lines:

  • Serenity Spa Products– These superior body treatments duplicate the experience of a professional spa therapy at home. The Serenity Spa Line gently exfoliates firms and replenishes beautiful skin with a more radiant texture.  The four step line includes a firming body lotion, peppermint foot therapy, hydrating body crème concentrate and an exfoliating enzyme scrub.
  • Serenity Vitamin Skin Care Products – Our Serenity Skincare Line provides you with five easy steps to cleanse, hydrate and enrich skin to glow beautiful. Vitamin-rich formulas protect skin from environmental damage that triggers premature aging. Skin appears smooth, fresh, and healthy-looking.  The five step skincare line includes a Vital Gel/Crème Cleanser, Vital Toner, Vital Moisture SPF15, Vital Nutrifying Crème and a Vital Eye Crème.
  • Serenity Holistic Line – Designed to fight the effects of environmental exposure, this line is created with apothecary formulas for clients who prefer a pared-down, no-nonsense regiment. The Serenity Holistic Line is bursting with nature’s best fruits, vegetable and botanical extracts. The products are naturally scented and wonderfully pampering and created to nourish skin as they reenergize the senses. The line includes three steps to youthful skin including 3-In-1 Body Oil, Hydrating Milk and a Peel-Off Mask.

I tried out a travel kit with Hydraessence products that anyone with dry skin would love. The kit contained the following:

  • Hydrating Cleansing Balm: A really nice cream cleanser that removes makeup, but leaves the skin feeling fresh and very moisturized. This was my favorite item in the kit! The texture is thicker than a cleansing milk, but not quite as thick as a true cream.
  • Essence of Hydration: An intensely hydrating serum.
  • Hydrating Crème Concentrate for Eyes: A good basic eye concentrate.
  • Hydrating Protection SPF 30: A nice SPF 30 hydrating lotion that really delivers with the moisture. l
  • Hydrating Crème Concentrate: This was my other favorite in the package. If you have very dry skin and need a good intense cream, take a look at this one. It has a rich, luxurious feel, provides deep moisture, yet absorbs well, without leaving anything greasy behind. Nice stuff!

If you are in the Chicago area and want to see the products up close, Style & Spa is hosting a Launch Party on October 3 at the East Bank Club in Chicago. The event will include hors d’ oeuvres, a serenity smoothies bar, mini-spa treatments and pampering gift bags. Entertainment will include Shari Addison of TV BET’s Sunday Best and music by renowned violinist, Stephanie Quinn. To be included on the guest list and attend at no cost, reservations must be made by September 25, 2009. For more information visit the Style & Spa Events Page.

Fitness Friday: Running The Chicago Marathon for Charity

I am running the 2009 Chicago Marathon in October to raise money for PAWS of Chicago. PAWS is a large no-kill animal shelter that also has a spay/neuter clinic and feral cat spay and release program. I have agreed to raise a minimum of $600 for PAWS and certainly would like to raise even more! More about PAWS is available at my donation page.

If you are a reader, blogger or business, you can also learn about how you can help on the Charity Page here on this site. Bloggers and businesses can gain exposure and free ad space by donating!

I you want a more humorous (and more pleading) look at my fundraising efforts, visit my dog Ty’s blog, Puppy on a Roomba for more.

In any event, please consider donating. Thanks!

Anthony Logistics For Men Event at Chicago Nordstrom

Anthony Sosnick Anthony Sosnick, creator of Anthony Logistics For Men, will be in Chicago on June 6, 2009, at the Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue from 12-5 PM. He will be giving tips for men on shaving and skincare.  He also is a great resource for women when buying Father’s Day gifts or how to subtlety introduce your man to the wonders of grooming—always a good thing right?

Here is a bit more about Sosnick:

Anthony Sosnick, creator of the premier men’s skincare line Anthony Logistics for Men, spent nearly ten years at Redico, a Michigan-based real estate development firm.  As partner and vice-president, Sosnick was a key player in expanding sports and entertainment venues and commercial real estate throughout the United States.

Armed with his savvy business sense, invaluable work experience and a fiery entrepreneurial spirit, Sosnick decided to venture into the personal care arena.  As a grooming-conscious consumer, he had searched endlessly for a full collection of men’s products in a market geared towards women.   Dismayed by the lack of choices, he set out to personally deliver a head-to-toe men’s grooming line to the modern man.

Anthony Logistics for Men was born after two years of extensive marketing and product research, hundreds of surveys, worldwide focus group studies, and over 500,000 distributed samples.  With a meticulous approach towards perfection, Anthony Sosnick developed the line based on direct feedback on the specific concerns and needs of men…right down to their preference for oversized tubes and fragrance free-blends.

Anthony Logistics for Men consists of over 100 products, broken down into four core areas of face, shave, hair and body.  Each product is designed with natural ingredients and essential oils that are specifically beneficial to men’s skin.

If you are in the area on June 6, check it out!

Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Salon Nail Polish

I adore Sally Hansen Salon nail polish. Simply put, it is the best and longest wearing lacquer that I have used.  That it is relatively inexpensive and easy to find is also a bonus.

The line is also full of great shades. Those are easy to get, but they also have a harder to find (unfortunately very hard to find at times) limited edition line from designer Tracy Reese. I tried out a selection of shades from the Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Salon Fall 2008 Collection, and they are amazing!  Below are two of my favorites that fit in perfectly with this fall and winter’s trend of purple and plum nails.

Sally Hansen Tracy Reese Nail Polish

The shade Night Lily (above) is a neat fuscia plum shade, and is my favorite of the collection. The polish looks more red in this picture than it really is though.

Tracy Reese Sally Hansen Nail Polish

The shade Alchemy (above) looks much more purple and shimmery in the bottle than it does on the nails. The shimmer is very subtle and the shade is nicely dark and muted. It is different from the other purple nail polishes that I have tried this fall and I adore it!

There are more interesting shades in the line and I will do some future posts on them. For a nice set of swatches of the full line, also take a look at Michelle’s coverage of them at All Lacquered Up.

My best luck at finding the Tracy Reese shades has been at ULTA Beauty stores. I recently found some from the spring 2008 collection still in stock at the one in Naperville Illinois, along with a few from the fall 2008 collection.
