Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Salon Nail Polish

I adore Sally Hansen Salon nail polish. Simply put, it is the best and longest wearing lacquer that I have used.  That it is relatively inexpensive and easy to find is also a bonus.

The line is also full of great shades. Those are easy to get, but they also have a harder to find (unfortunately very hard to find at times) limited edition line from designer Tracy Reese. I tried out a selection of shades from the Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Salon Fall 2008 Collection, and they are amazing!  Below are two of my favorites that fit in perfectly with this fall and winter’s trend of purple and plum nails.

Sally Hansen Tracy Reese Nail Polish

The shade Night Lily (above) is a neat fuscia plum shade, and is my favorite of the collection. The polish looks more red in this picture than it really is though.

Tracy Reese Sally Hansen Nail Polish

The shade Alchemy (above) looks much more purple and shimmery in the bottle than it does on the nails. The shimmer is very subtle and the shade is nicely dark and muted. It is different from the other purple nail polishes that I have tried this fall and I adore it!

There are more interesting shades in the line and I will do some future posts on them. For a nice set of swatches of the full line, also take a look at Michelle’s coverage of them at All Lacquered Up.

My best luck at finding the Tracy Reese shades has been at ULTA Beauty stores. I recently found some from the spring 2008 collection still in stock at the one in Naperville Illinois, along with a few from the fall 2008 collection.

Lancome Fashion Focus Chicago Collection at Macy’s

I was unable to get downtown for Fashion Focus Chicago this year, but for you Lancome lovers in the Chicago metro area here is a bit of cool news:

In celebration of the Fashion Focus sponsorship, Lancôme will unveil a special makeup collection called The Fashion Focus Backstage Beauty Collection available exclusively at select Chicago Macy's locations beginning September 20th until October 31st. A portion of the proceeds from the collection will benefit The Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI), a fashion program that supports six emerging Chicago-based designers. CFI is a part of the Mayor’s Fashion Initiative, which supports and promotes fashion designers living and working in Chicago through events, seminars and city programs.

The Fashion Focus Backstage Beauty Collection was inspired by the women who walk the Magnificent Mile every day and features a beautiful range of chic and wearable naturals hand-picked by Lancôme’s Alex Sanchez. Products include: NEW! Color Design Palette in Golden Glitz $42.00, Color Design Blush in Freeze Frame $27.00, Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Femme Fire $25.00, Color Fever Gloss in Hotness $23.00, Artliner in Noir $28.00, Le Crayon Khol in Black Coffee $23.50, Hypnôse Mascara in Black $24.00, Blending Shadow Brush # 17 $26.00.

The following Macy’s locations will carry the collection: State Street, Water Tower, Old Orchard, and Woodfield.

You can view some photos and swatches of the collection here.  I am going to Woodfield Monday and am tempted to pick up the palette and lipstick!
