MAC Warm and Cozy Collection

It seems like my inbox is already getting filled with spring collections, and yes, I know that the companies need to get that information out early, but it is still winter and, as much as I would like it to end (it is COLD in Chicago), it is just plain too early for me to be contemplating spring all that much. So, I particularly like MAC Cosmetics MAC Warm and Cozy Collection, which is perfect for post-holiday winter looks.

The collection focuses on warm/neutral shades that can give a nice natural, slightly seductive, and well…warm, look.

Particularly nice are the new MAC Shadesticks (pictured right). These pretty eyeshadow sticks have a nice luminous glow to the shades. The collection also has a couple of pretty new nail polish shades

Benefit Cosmetics Beauty to Go Kit

This Benefit Cosmetics Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers Kit from Sephora has a great selection of Benefit Cosmetics and is a nice way to test out some Benefit items.

The kit includes:

- 0.08 oz Posietint: A poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain
- 0.06 oz Some Kind-A Gorgeous: The foundation faker
- 0.25 oz That Gal: A brightening face primer
- 0.09 oz High Beam: A luminescent complexion enhancer

Personally, I love Poisetint on both lips and cheeks and high beam is one of my long time favorite highlighters. I haven’t tried the other two items in the kit.

Bobbi Brown Holiday Collection

Bobbi Brown Chrome is Bobbi brown’s 2009 Holiday collection. It features some neat and unique metallic shades. The eye shadows are quite different from other lines and the lip shades are extra metallic.The collection is below, along with a few other items that Bobbi Brown lists as “gifts,” and a couple of brush kits that I just had to toss in because Bobbi Brown makeup brushes are so darn good!

I recently looked at the Bobbi Brown Holiday Line in the store. If you like creative holiday looks or simply just don’t want your holiday makeup to look like everyone else, take a look at the Bobbi Brown Chrome Collection. It just might meet your needs.

Nars 15th Anniversary Palettes

Nars has two limited edition makeup palettes out for their 15th anniversary. Both are quite nice and neither will last long.

MAC Holiday Nail Polish, Lucky Number from Magic Mirth & Michief

I fell in love with the MAC Holiday MAC Magic Mirth & Mischief Nail Lacquer in the shade Lucky Number as soon as I saw it in the store. Go figure that they were sold out of it though at both the MAC store and at Nordstrom! So I mail ordered it.

The light lavender shade is quite luminous, with silvery pigment running through it. A swatch is below.

The MAC holiday polish also wore particularly well for me. MAC nail polish always does, but I got longer than normal with this one. I suspect it is because I got good one coat coverage and didn’t use a top coat, so the lacquer wasn’t as thick on my nails.
