Kronos Phyx Overnight Conditioner

Kronos Phyx

Looking for the best deep conditioner? This is it! Kronos Phyx Overnight Repair Masque is certainly the most unique hair conditioner that I have tried. It also is the absolute best that I have tried, beating out even my other darling conditioner, Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment (read review). (Note: the bottle forKronos Phyx  looks different now, but it is still the same great product)

First, why this is unique: Kronos Phyx is a leave in, overnight hair treatment that will not rub off or otherwise make a mess. The conditioner is applied to dry hair and it absorbs very quickly, leaving no film to rub off on sheets and pillowcases. There is no particular scent, and not a whole lot is needed for a full application. While on, it goes to work, providing deep conditioning.  Wash it out in the morning to find extremely soft well behaved hair.

I found Kronos Phyx to be nothing short of amazing, and my dry, color treated hair does wonderfully with it. Best yet, using Phyx several times per week just intensifies the results. Now compare that to Ojon, which is also truly wonderful stuff in terms of results, but its also a stinky, greasy mess that is difficult to use too often because of the time commitment to sitting around all day with oily hair.  Needless to say, since I discovered Phyx, my jar of Ojon is getting used much less often.

Of course many good things still have a downside, and Phyx cannot escape that. It is expensive. At $105 for a fairly small bottle, it really is a luxury item. But here is the upside to the downside: Not a ton of product is needed for each application, so it will last for quite a bit, but nevertheless, it won’t fit in every woman’s budget. Regardless, I think this one is well worth the price. Kronos makes a number of other highly rated hair products as well.

I got my bottle in the first edition of Beauty Fix. Which they no longer seem to include. But you can get it Dermstore and often on sale there, making it more affordable: Kronos Phyx Overnight Repair Masque

Ouidad Botanical Boost Conditioning and Refreshing Spray

Ouidad hair conditioner

Ouidad Botanical Boost Conditioning and Refreshing Spray is a lightweight leave-in conditioner that has previously won an Allure Best of Beauty Award. I love this stuff and have been using it almost daily for awhile now. The conditioner detangles, moisturizes and really tames the frizzies! It has quickly become my alternate favorite leave in conditioner next to my Schwarzkopf Bonacure Moisture Kick (Read Review).

Ouidad advertises themselves as “the curl experts,” but I have used their products both when scrunching my hair up into waves and curls and when blowing it straight. In fact, I wear it straight more often than not and the conditioning spray works wonderfully for that as well.

Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioners

Aveda Dry Remedy Total Beauty recently gave me three Aveda products for extra dry hair to try. Each are quite nice, although I am not a huge fan of the scent. For more reviews of them see the links, which go over to the Total Beauty site.

Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Shampoo is a good low lather moisture shampoo. The low lather lessens concerns about stripping color and the shampoo definitely adds moisture instead of removing it. I really liked the results that I got with this shampoo, although it is a bit on the expensive side. It also has a scent that I can’t quite place. It smells a bit earthy or nutty. Anyway, I am not a big fan of the scent, but it does not seem to stick around when the hair is dry, and it would not keep me from continuing to use the product.

Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Conditioner is a good every day conditioner that does a decent job detangling and leaves the hair soft.  I consider it a good dry hair product that does not necessarily stand out over others in its price range, but it is a perfectly good performer to add in addition to using the shampoo.

The Aveda Dry Remedy Treatment Mask was my favorite of the group. This thick deep conditioner did an excellent job of taming my dry hair and leaving it exceptionally soft. Use it for 3-5 minutes for a basic deep treatment or longer for even more moisture. Of the three products, this is the one that I would be most likely to purchase.
