L’Oreal Deep Set Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream

L'Oreal Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream comes in a double sided tube. One side for night and the other for day. As far as eye creams go, it is pretty standard, but a decent enough choice for a product with Retinol at around $20.

The day creme is really a light lotion that includes SPF 15 and moisturizers for basic conditioning and protection. It absorbs well, feels fine, and I really can’t find anything to complain about other than it doesn't really stand out either. It basically is a just a good everyday basic eye cream.

The night creme is slightly thicker (but not much) and includes Retinol for anti-aging and wrinkle treatment. Retinol is pretty much the ingredient of choice for night treatment and L’Oreal’s cream feels good and absorbs well. However, without knowing the concentration of Retinol, it might not be the best choice available.  If you are not sensitive to Retinol, look for an eye cream that includes the full amount allowed over the counter, such as ROC. I have my doubts that L’Oreal includes it to that concentration. Also, keep in mind that this cream, or any eye cream for that matter, regardless of the amount of Retinol, is not going to repair your deep set wrinkles. They might help with the appearance some, or better yet, prevent worsening, but no cream is a cure. Sorry.

Overall, L’Oreal’s eye cream duo is pretty standard. It has an OK price point for its ingredients, but mostly I just like the combo of a day and night cream in one package and I think it is particularly nice for travel.

Bulgari Lumiere and Precieuse Eye Creams

Bulgari has come out with a fill line of skin care products and they sent me a number of sample sizes to try. I plan to cover most of them but am starting with the two eye crams because I grabbed them first to try. Why? Because I am a sucker for a good eye cream!  So those jumped out at me as what I wanted to test first.

bugari skin care

The Bulgari skin care line contains Bulgari Gem Essence which is described by the company as follows:

Bulgari’s exclusive Bvlgari Gem Essence® formula contains four extracts of fine and precious stones chosen for their synergetic and beneficial effects on the skin. These include: sapphire, malachite, tourmaline, and citrine.  In addition, the line includes a specific polypeptide III complex. Furthermore, the combination of the two should stimulate the production of collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, and fibronectin all of which can affect the skins tone, coloration, and elasticity etc.

There are two different eye cream formulations:

Regard De Lumiere is a day cream that absorbs quite quickly and feel very nice. There is no residual oiliness with it and it has a luxurious feel, which I would expect from a luxury line!

Regard Precieux is a bit heavier eye cream, suitable for dry skin or as a night cream. It too absorbed well and had a nice feel.

I didn’t have large enough samples to really state anything about the effects of these creams over a longer period of time, but both are nice in terms of feel and moisturizing ability. I particularly liked the light weight and quick absorption of the Lumiere cream. Being from Bulgari, they also have rather nice packaging.

the Bulgari skin care lines are available at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

DHC Eye Bright

DHC Eye Bright I am a big DHC Skin Care fan, so I keep getting new items from them to try. My latest favorite is DHC Eye Bright icon.  This is a gel eye cream that depuffs and brightens using caffeine, revitalizing Isodonis japonicus (a Japanese botanical), and licorice extract. The gel also hydrates and soothes with sodium hyaluronate and cucumber.

The gel has a nice cooling feel to it when it is applied. Put it in the fridge for even more depuffing! I really like Eye Bright in the mornings when my eyes are puffy and I need a quick pick me up.
