Fashion Friday: Wants From Day One of New York Fashion Week
Gwen Stephani arrived for her L.A.M.B. show at Milk Studios carrying this lovely blue bag. It is suddenly my biggest want of the moment:
I am also rather fond of this look form Elie Tahari. I love orange and saw it used in several day one shows.
I also like this one from Elie Tahari. I like the light weight capris seen at the Tahari show:
And just to show what a sucker I am for both gray tones and just about anything L.A.M.B.:

Fashion Friday: Jimmy Choo for H&M!
This is sure to be a blockbuster. Can we get in line now? Jimmy Choo is teaming up with H&M. Slated for November 14, 2009, the line will include shoes, bags and women’s clothing.
Footwear will be in the $99 to $129 price bracket with perhaps a few more expensive items. Ballet flats will run in the $59 range. Handbags will run from $59 to $299. The news so far is that markets will be limited and the stores have not yet been announced.
There might be women fighting in the aisles over this one!

Fashion Friday: Going to the Ballgame!
Today’s Fashion Friday post is in honor of the opening week of baseball!
Going to a ballgame doesn’t mean you can’t have some fashion fun. Here are some ways to look great, yet relaxed at the same time:
Wear casual updo. For ideas, check out this list at Total Beauty with seventeen of them that you can do in ten minutes or less.
Wear flats, but not tennis shoes. Ballet flats, flat chunky heel sandals, or dressier flip flops will keep your feet comfy without looking frumpy.
Keep makeup light and girly. You don’t want to be sweating your makeup off. Wear a light tinted moisturizer, waterproof mascara, and a light gloss for a fresh look.
Dress like a fashionable fan. Wear cute clothing or accessories with team colors instead of a full wardrobe of fan gear. Or opt for a crisp white shirt with only one piece of fanwear such as a logo tank top, or a ballcap.
Want to really dress the part of a fan? Look for a team theme handbag, such as this one for the Chicago Cubs. It looks a bit dorky online, but I saw a woman with it at the park who looked fabulous and repeatedly got compliments on the bag.
Must of all be comfortable and enjoy yourself. Ballgames are not for high style, they are for casual and relaxed fun.

The Miche Handbag With Removable Shells, One Bag Multiple Personalities
The Miche Handbag (view at: the Miche website) with removable shells is is one of the more fun items that I have gotten to try. The bag is a good quality handbag that can be transformed into a multitude of looks. The handbag comes with a removable outer casing, so you can switch out looks to change the appearance of the bag.
The Miche handbag itself is good quality. It has a full zipper that snaps at one end so that the bag can fully open and expand. The shape is reminiscent of the older Kate Spade bags. The interchangeable leather shells come in a variety of materials and have metal feet, giving the bag a high end look and feel.
Switching the handbag’s appearance only takes a few seconds. Each shell is held on with credit card safe magnets, and changing just requires pulling the old one off and sticking the new one on. The covers stay in place very well and the look is attractive. When I show my Miche purse to friends, they invariably always end up wanting one!
The site sells base bags in black and brown and provides a good selection of shells. There are also some add on handle choices for the bags. I’m pretty hooked on my Miche handbag and plan to pick up some more shells for it!

Three Bright Bags That Look More Expensive Than They Are
In my denial that it is the end of summer, I have a post on bright colored bags! Everyone loves a bargain, especially if it looks much more expensive than it really is. These handbags fit the bill! Now is also the time to buy these colors. They will go on sale in order to make room for the reds, browns, and blacks of fall.
Running into September, bags by Monica Botkier will be available at Target. This is your chance to own a designer bag for $50 or less. I have seen them start to go on sale at a few stores too!
Purple is also really hot this fall, so this bag can carry you through the summer like days of September into fall, and through the winter.
Available in multiple colors for $78, this faux patent leather bag from Yah at Yesstyle has features lending to an expensive appearance, such as metal feet and a metal zippers. Plus, it is from Korea, so you are less apt to run into other people carrying it. When I carry this bag, I get compliments on it right and left. I just ordered up two bags for fall from the same place. One word of warning though, YesStyle is a bit slow on shipping. But they are such a great shopping source, that I find it worth the wait!
For around $50 or $60, you can get a bag like this sunshine yellow and white bag at Baghaus. With metal hardware and a magnetic snap closure, it seems expensive, but the faux leather keeps the price down. Baghaus is full of bags like this.
Still looking for the perfect bag that is cheap, yet looks expensive? Here is a quick list of some items to look for:
- Metal zippers
- felt or leather feet
- magnetic closures.
- A leather look (even if fake)
- A nice liner
- Interesting design features for a unique look.
To avoid your bag appearing cheap, avoid: Plastic zippers and closures, fabric, nylon, plain or overly neutral colors, lack of pockets or decoration.
