Makeup Wars: Favorite Fall Nail Polish

This edition of Makeup War features favorite nail polish shades for fall. Mine is from Butter London in the shade Queen Vic. I grabbed this one because it represents my favorite fall color, which is a berry/plum/purple type of shade. I have some other favorite shades for fall that tend more toward dark purple.

Butter London has some beautiful nail polish shades. I’m not a huge fan of the brush with them though. The handle is a bit short for my tastes, which I think makes it a bit harder to apply. Given that I am not good a nail polish application to begin with, I need all the help I can get in terms of the brush! Regardless, I do love this shade and I am a fan of a number of other Butter London shades.

Essie Luxe Effects Top Coat Swatches and Review

This summer, I got an Essie nail polish in Bikini so Teeny and an Essie Luxe Effects Top Coat in Stroke of Brilliance through Klout Perks. I decided to try them together. The result was an easy to do fun and sparkly nail look.

Bikini so Teeny is a pretty light pastel blue. I normally don’t care for how blue looks on me, but I really like this one.

Essie Luxe Effects top coat ads texture and sparkle with flecks of metallic color. Stroke of Brilliance has nice silver blue flecks.

I found luxe effects pretty easy to apply and it wore incredibly well. I thought it might chip off quickly because of the texture, but instead it lasted much longer than I normally get. I think the metallic flecks must help bind things and prevent chipping to some extent. Overall, I really like the look too!

Nails Inc. offers some lovely nail polish shades and the neutral taupe shade Jermyn Street is one of their best sellers. I got this mini bottle of it in the Nails Inc. Neon and Nudes set, but it is also available in the Neutral set or as a single purchase.
