Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara

Neutrogena Healthy Volume MascaraNeutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara surprised me a little. You see, I tend to not fare well with mascara that has a big brush, and the brush with this one is huge. But it worked quite well for me!

In general, Neutrogena Healthy Volume gives just that--volume. I found that the lengthening was fine but not spectacular, while the thickening and general overall volume was the big benefit. And it didn't clump,-- not at all-- not even with a large brush.

Healthy Volume mascara also contains olive oil for conditioning, hence the "healthy" part of the name. Olive oil is wonderful stuff, so I like the addition of it in a mascara. The mascara also removed easily and I had no issues wearing it with my contact lenses in.

Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleaning Pads and Pond’s Exfoliating Clean Sweep Toweletts

I had high hopes for Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads, but merely found them to be OK.

Neutrogena Illuminating Microderm Cleansing Pads
These cleansing pads are little round cases that you hold by slipping your fingers inside. One side is textured for exfoliating and the other is a plain cleansing pad. The pad also contains a bit of soapy cleanser. I really didn't find the exfoliating side to be very effective. It felt a bit like it was scrubbing, but not much. I admit though that I like a pretty strong scrub. Regardless I can exfoliate much better than the neutogena microderm pads by using a scrub or simply with a rough washcloth (which is a great trick for cheap exfoliation). The cleansing side was too small for makeup removal and I found the whole thing to be a bit too soapy for my tastes.  There wasn't a ton of soap, but with such a small pad, I had to use quite a bit of water and a separate washcloth to wipe it all off.
Ponds Exfoliating Clean Sweep Cleansing Towelettes
I much prefer the Pond's Exfoliating Clean Sweep, Cucumber Cleansing Towelettes. The Pond's Towellettes are large enough to provide decent makeup removal. I also like that while they contain some cleanser, it isn't too much. I would much rather add my own than have too much to begin with. The exfoliating side of the Pond's towelettes is rough enough that you can feel it scrubbing, yet also pretty gentle. So between these two products, Pond's definitely wins!

The Best Neutrogena Products: MoistureShine Lip Products and Neutrogena Lip Balms

Neutrogena lipstickNeutrogena makes a number of quality Neutrogena lip products marketed at quite affordable prices. Being a bit of a lip product addict, I have tried most of them! I am particularly in love with Neutrogena MoistureShine Soothing Lip Sheers I recently purchased one of these in shimmering blush (#30), which is a nice light neutral mauve tone. For being a moisturizing product, which don't often seem to hold color all that well, the color in the Neutrogena Moisture Shine, while being sheer, is also fairly rich and stays on quite well. With its moisturizers and vitamin E, the product feels good, does not have any unpleasant taste or smell (unfortunately some of the otherwise great products out there do), and is SPF 20. It also comes in an attractive thin silver case, giving it the look of a much more expensive product. I really love this stuff and highly recommend it.
Neutrogena Moistureshine
Also in the Moisture Shine line is the Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Soother Cooling Hydragel. I have one of these in gleam and love it. The hydrating gel really is soothing and it provides a nice lightly tinted and fairly long wearing gloss. This too has an SPF of 20, and I highly recommend it.

If you prefer a tinted balm, the Neutrogena Moisture MoistureShine Tinted Lip Balm might be for you. It contains vitamins C and E and is rated at SPF 20. I have one of these and like it just fine. It provides decent moisture and a bit of color. But I prefer the MoistureShine Lip Sheer and the Hydragel because they seem to moisturize a bit more and provide a bit more color and shine. For those wanting a very light balm with just a hint of color though, the tinted balm might be the preferred choice. The Neutrogena MoistureShine line also includes a MoistureShine Gloss. I haven't tried this yet, but based on the other products in the line, I imagine that it is a pretty good product.
Neutrogena Lip Balm
Neutrogena also makes a few other balms. Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer SPF 15 is a good standard lip balm, but I like my Alba and Banana Boat balms (link is to previous review) better because they don't require reapplication as often. Neutrogena also makes flavored balms that come in pots. One I ran out and bought as soon as I learned of it is Neutrogena Lip Nutrition Lip Balm, Passion Fruit Boosting 20. I am passionate for passion fruit and this is the first time I have seen a balm with that flavor. It tastes great, lasts a long time, and adds a hint of color similar to that of Benefit Benetint Tinted Lip Balm (link is to previous review), although I think it has a bit lower amount of pigment. It is also getting pretty good ratings from others who have tried it.
