Three Affordable Bright Eye Looks For Spring With Products From Target

Spring is coming. Although I sure wish it would get here now! To help it along, here are 3 bright and bold eye makeup looks and how you can get using affordable and easy to find products at Target.

Bold Ocean Blue

Bold Eye Look

Get this gorgeous and daring look using Maybelline Color Tattoo shadows, with a dab of L’Oreal infallible Eyeshadow at the inner eye. The key to this look is to graduate the teal into the blue, with the blue staying predominate, and then add purple to the brow bone with very little blending. Line the lids with a black liner, and get full gorgeous lashes with Sonia Kashuk Full Glam Eyelashes.  Add a vivid lip color to your lips, such as one of the Maybelline Sensational Vivids, to round out this bold spring look.

Fuchsia and Teal

L'Oreal Bold Eye Look

Get this look with the teal and fuchsia shades in the pictured L’Oreal Colour Riche Quad. Place the teal color on the upper lid,and blend to slightly above the crease. If you prefer more blue than teal, try the Color Tattoo from the first look instead.  You can highlight the brow bone with the light shade in the quad and blend it with the fuchsia to obtain the pink shade in the photo. Line the eyes with Maybelline Eye Studio Master Drama Liner, and get beautiful lashes with CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara. I am seriously in love with that mascara!

Daring Yellow and Coral Orange

Maybelline Daring Eye Makeup Look

Finally, you can get this unique and bright look using the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Quad.  Apply the coral shade to the lids and slightly above the crease, building it in intensity at the outer edge. Use a damp brush to get the most vivid results. Apply yellow to the brow bone and, using a press or liner brush, apply the plum shade under the lid, sweeping it up to form a cat’s eye. Line the lids with Sonia Kashuk Jet Set Liquid Liner and grab that ClumpCrusher Mascara for perfect lashes.

I love all three of these looks and, best of all, they are all super affordable with items that you can find easily at Target!

Makeup Wars, Travel Makeup

This week’s Makeup Wars is pretty relevant to me since I am traveling to Texas as I write it. What do I pack for a weekend away? See below! Also, for information on air travel with makeup in your carry on bags, see my previous article: Flying With Makeup in Your Carryon.

Purely Pro Cosmetics, which I will be reviewing soon, sent me some samples in what turned out to be a great travel bag. So I am using that for this trip.

The bag folds out to reveal a number of pockets and holders, and it has a hook for hanging.

For makeup, I almost always travel with this Laura Mercier palette. It is no longer available, but Laura Mercier tends to have something similar out at any given time. I love this one because it has neutral shadows for day or evening looks, eye liner, cheek color, bronzer, and highlighter.

For the rest of my makeup, I have a Nars tinted moisturizer, Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder Foundation, a powder blush, and a variety of lip products. I usually grab one lip crayon one or two lipsticks and a gloss. Here I happen to have a Sonia Kashuk lipstick and gloss combo for that. I also always have a lip balm in there. Then, I add just a couple of brushes (here I have 2 Dara Z eye brushes and a MAC blush brush), a makeup sponge, and an eyelash curler. I have a sample size mascara here that I am trying to use up and a new Maybelline Lash Blast Length mascara that I am testing (and am not a big fan of so far, review coming soon) .

Travel Makeup

For makeup removal and skin care, I normally pack samples. On this trip, I remembered that MAC, way back, sent me some of their travel items. You can still get these as far as I know. They are nice basic items for travel, although the set includes Strobe Cream, which breaks me out something terrible, so I left that at home.

MAC to go Travel Set

I had done a glitter bomb manicure the day before I left and I knew that it wouldn’t last the whole trip without chipping, so I also packed these Cutex nail polish remover pads. Having once had polish remover leak in my luggage, I love these for travel. That won’t ever happen to me again!

The box and my other toiletries fit nicely in the middle pocket of the bag.

Sonia Kashuk Bare Minimum Pressed Powder Bronzer

Sonia Kashuk Bronzer I have been going through a number of Sonia Kashuk items and will be featuring a few of my favorites. One is the Sonia Kashuk Bare Minimum Pressed Powder Bronzer in Golden, although I recommend it mainly for those with fair skin.

This bronzer is quite sheer, so for a super pale girl like me, it is perfect. I use it for a just a hint of color on my cheeks and forehead, and as a bit of contouring on only my cheeks. It provides a nice tint to the face, without being overwhelming. Because it is so sheer, I don't know that women with darker skin will have much luck with it though. Even though it appears rather dark in the package, it simply isn't.

As with other Sonia Kashuk items, the packaging is quite nice. A brush is not included with this, but Sonia Kashuk makes a number of very affordable cosmetic brushes that would work well with the bronzer, such as this Sonia Kashuk Large Contoured/Angled Blush Brush.

Sonia Kashuk products are available at Amazon.com (linked above) and at Target stores.
