Clarisonic Sonic Radiance Review

Clarisonic sent me their Clarisonic Sonic Radiance kit to review. The set is designed to address discoloration (aka melasma) and consists of the Clarisonic Aria sonic cleansing device and three skin brightening products to use with it. I’ve been using it for around a month now and am quite happy with it.

Clarisonic Sonic Radiance Review

The Clarisonic uses sonic cleansing technology to cleanse the skin. The Sonic Radiance kit uses a brush head specific for the skin brightening products and incorporates a separate morning and evening cleansing product, along with a serum to treat and control melasma, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots.

Clarisonic aria

using the brush takes only a minute or two. The device has a built-in timer that beeps when you should move it to a new location on the face, and it automatically shuts off. I absolutely love it for good cleansing and exfoliation.

One of the cleaners is a gentle overall skin cleanser, with some skin brightening agents to clean a brighten skin. The other, the Sonic Radiance Renewing Peeling Wash, incorporates glycolic acid  to help exfoliate, which in turn helps tackle dark spots. I like both cleansers, but I particularity like the peeling wash which from the amount of tingling it provides, I think has a decent amount of glycolic in it. But it is still gentle. I had no irritation from it.

The serum that comes with the set contains ellagic acid, which has antioxidant properties. Clarisonic also lists it as a brightening agent, although I am not familiar with it as one of the top agents for that. Regardless, it certainly is fine as protective serum. I still like to use PCA Skin Pigment Gel though as my go-to serum for melasma. It simply is the item that has always worked best for me. So I have been skipping the Sonic Radiance serum at night and use PCA instead.

If you have concerns about melasma, sun spots, or simply want to focus on skin brightening, this is a great kit to get. The sonic brush is great and the products are solid as well. Plus you can use it with other skin cleaning products aside from those that come in the kit.

You can buy it at Sephora, where it is also getting good reviews.
