As an actress and model my skin is expected to look flawless. So today, in part 4 of my summer series, I’m sharing the skincare that I use to navigate this season without breaking a sweat.

A quick side note – I know I’ve said this before but I have to remind myself sometimes too. Water is a non negotiable moisturizer, the results show externally in the form of dewy skin. To help myself drink more water, I add chia seeds as mentioned previously in my summer series.

I’m going to start by sharing my new cleansing method – Badger Argan Face Cleansing Oil. As chemistry shows us, like dissolves like, and balance is the key to healthy, happy skin. As we go about our day, dirt, pollution (especially in the city), and other impurities can become trapped within the oil on our face. Oil cleansing is a gentle and simple method to dissolve facial oil congested with bacteria, dead skin cells and dirt and replacing it with fresh, clean, vibrant plant oils – without stripping or over-drying the skin. Castor oil lifts impurities, while Argan, Sunflower, and Jojoba replenish essential vitamins, fatty acids and lipids. The cleansing oil clears away make-up, leaving the skin feeling clean, balanced and glowing. The benefit of using oil to cleanse is that it works with your natural protective oils. I simply massage the oil into my face and neck and let it sit for a minute before laying a hot washcloth over my face. Wait until it cools and if desired, repeat. The steam draws out the loosened impurities from the pores. I also enjoy leaving the oil on my face while in the steam room. Be patient with this method if you are going to try it for the first time, as your skin may need time to adjust. Now that we have clean skin, let’s scrub. To get that light reflecting glow, there’s nothing like a good scrub. I love the feeling and the results from using a facial scrub. If it is gentle enough, I believe that it can be used daily. I’ve used Burt’s Bees citrus facial scrub for years and it remains one of my favorites.

As you know, if you follow my beauty essentials, I am a fan of serums and oils. They penetrate deeper and therefore the results are more evident in the skin. I’ve mentioned before my love of Acure Organics. Their Radical Resurfacing Treatment works to even the skin tone (hello sun lovers). It can be used morning and night under your serum and moisturizer. The Seriously Firming Serum remains one of my all time favorites. The combination of Argan oil, borage oil and cranberry work to neutralize free radicals for firmer, glowing skin. Warm 1-2 pumps in the palm and press into the face and neck, following your moisturizer. For the day I swear by Honey Girl Organics face and eye cream, the results speak volumes. Their super skin food is fabulous for drier skin at night time. I like to allow my skin to rejuvenate while I sleep and I assist it by using retinal. I love MyChelle skincare and their Remarkable Retinal Serum works wonders. I’ve also used Burt’s Bees repair serum for my eyes and around my lips for years. In the summer I may use a moisturizer after, sometimes just the serum is enough. I believe in prevention so I like Derma e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A & E treatment oil. There are so many Argan oils out there, my favorite is MyChelle Advanced Argan oil and as an alternative Badger Seabuckthorn face oil rocks (it helps nourish and hydrate). Don’t forget the delicate eye area, the windows to your soul. Two eye creams that I have been testing recently are AnneMarie Borlind AquaNature Hyaluronate eye cream, which is proving to work effortlessly for the summer. It is for demanding, dehydrated skin and reduces fine lines caused by dryness. I love how the organic caffeine stimulates the microcirculation and alleviates puffiness. Hmmmmmm I wonder if my love of organic coffee drinking has the same effect – wink wink. Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter eye treatment rocks. I’m a Tarte lover and this eye cream is wonderful. I have to say the skin under my eyes looks flawless and brighter when I’ve used this treatment. It is really important to moisturize the skin around your eyes. Remember to gently tap from the outside corner inwards with your ring finger.

While traveling over the weekend I used John Masters Organics lavender hydrating mist for the face & hair. I found it extremely refreshing. A quick spray throughout the day really does make a difference to your skin tone and it is the ideal travel partner. As a side note, John Masters Organics has a phenomenal hair line.

I must say microdermabrasion facials help keep my skin in check. My skin feels incredibly squeaky clean afterwards, I just love that feeling. It is noticeably smoother and has the ultimate glow. Consistency is key for this treatment to work.

I’ve just started taking black current seed oil, like evening primerose oil and borage seed oil, it contains the skin loving Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). I highly recommend taking one of these (especially for my vegan friends) as these oils work from the inside out and you will see a visible improvement in your skin tone.

So until next time beauty lovers, stay empowered and enjoy rocking your flawless skin as you navigate this season.
