Get Smooth Brighter Skin With The New Antioxidant MitoQ

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of MitoQ. The opinions and text are all mine.

I have been getting some really nice results with MitoQ serum and supplements. In fact, it is one of the more exciting products to come along in some time.  I tend to have dull skin with a bit of a bumpy texture. I  am also a runner and need to keep my energy levels high. MitoQ serum has been great for my skin, and I like the supplement for its reported effect of increasing energy. Couldn’t we all use a little more of that?

mitoQ serum and supplement review

MitoQ products incorporate a new advancement in CoQ antioxidant technology that  is getting a lot of favorable buzz in the scientific community and among consumer reviews.  Developed in New Zealand at Otago University, Dunedin, MitoQ serum and supplement provide a new way to target skin issues such as  fine lines and wrinkles, lack of elasticity, dark spots and dull skin tone.

How MitoQ Works

MitoQ is a new form of CoQ10, a popular anitoxidant in many skin care products.  But MitoQ is more effective than CoQ10 because it specifically targets mitochondria.  Healthy mitochondria are vital to healthy skin, as they give cells and organs the energy that they need to function well. Mitochondria are responsible for making 90-95% of the energy in your cells and in the process produce 90-95% of the free radicals. Because of this, mitochondria require high antioxidant protection. As protection declines over time through aging, there are fewer effective mitochondria and free radicals spill into the cell, causing damage to cell contents, aka wrinkles and dull skin.

An unfortunate side effect of aging is that mitochondria reduces in function around 10% every decade. Thus, as you age,  your cells don’t get the energy that they need to operate at optimal levels. The result in terms of skin care is the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, lack of elasticity, dark spots and dull skin tone. MitoQ works to correct that.  MitoQ has been scientifically proven to be 847 times more effective than CoQ10. That is pretty exciting!  It is backed by over $50 million in research and has over 200 papers published investigating its effects.

MitoQ Products and Review

MitoQ is available in both a  serum and supplement form. Aside from seeing benefits in the skin, the supplements can give you greater energy. For me, as an active older runner (I am 48) ,with my fair share of age related skin issues, MitoQ is perfect.

MitoQ Serum: I have used MitoQ for about three weeks now. The serum is light and absorbs well. That is important to me since I also have oily skin. I use it as part of my overall skin care routine, putting it on just before moisturizing.  In just over a week I felt that my skin was less dull. I did not expect results that quickly, so it was a very pleasant surprise and quite nice to see. I also had been getting some redness lately and the serum noticeably helped with that. After three weeks, I am noticing some smoothing to the texture of my skin. I am quite hopeful that it will have a positive effect on fine lines and wrinkles as well once I have used it longer.   For the most part, consumer MitoQ reviews have been very positive, with many reporting good results on wrinkles. If you are thinking of purchasing the product I recommend reading through the reviews. I suspect this is going to be a product that I purchase after the bottle is empty and the reviews show that a good number of people are repeat customers.  That speaks volumes about a product.

MitoQ Supplement: The supplement is an easy to take capsule (recommend dose is 2 per day). It is recommended for use to support energy levels and also support various health conditions such as to support those who take statins for heart disease. I have been fine in terms of energy levels while taking the supplement, but I also was not necessarily suffering from low energy before.  That makes it a bit hard for me to review, but like the serum, the supplement also gets quite good consumer reviews. I certainly plan to keep taking it. I figure it can’t hurt and, given the noticeable results in my skin, I like the idea that the supplement may also be nourishing my skin from the inside out.

Buy MitoQ: You can buy MitoQ on their website.
