Wearing sunglasses not only helps protect my eyes from UV rays, they also help keep the wind, dirt, and grit from getting in and making my eyes drier. By wearing a hat, my eyes are further shaded, and I avoid sweat dripping into my eyes, which can be irritating since sweat tends to be quite salty.
Drink Plenty of Fluids
Staying hydrated is always important and it is even more so when you suffer from dry eye. I carry my hydration vest with me when I run in order to assure that I take in plenty of liquids. I also use electrolyte tablets and try to eat lots of juicy fruits and vegetables, especially on long run days. I can also easily carry eye drops such as Rohto Dry-Aid in my vest.
