Fix Your Dry Hair and Skin with a Water Softening System
Is hard water harming your hair and skin? If you have dry, limp, or brittle hair, or if you are suffering from patchy dry skin, your water might actually be to blame. Other signs of hard water are spotty dishes and buildup on your tub and shower. It happens as the result of mineral deposits in your water. I avoid these issues by using a water softening system, which is a lifesaver for my skin and hair.

About Hard Water
Hard water occurs when rainwater passes through the earth and picks up materials such as calcium and magnesium that can leave deposits, clog pipes, and damage appliances. Those same deposits end up on you hair, skin, and dishes. Here is a glass of mine that got hard water spots when we failed to promptly refill our water softener with Morton Salt. If you have hard water, these same deposits can really do a number on your hair and skin.

Some of the problems cause by hard water include:
- Dry, brittle hair that feels like straw
- Frizzy hair
- Limp and dull hair
- Product build up in hair from products not rinsing out cleanly
- Dry, patchy skin
- Aggravation of conditions such as eczema
- Spotty dishes
- Rough clothing
- Buildup on showers and tubs
- Clogged pipes
- Damages to appliances
Back when I lived in Nebraska, I was constantly battling all of these things because I had hard water and no water softening system. When I moved to Illinois and had a water softening system I quickly learned what I had been missing out on. My skin and hair improved greatly simply by having soft water. I now live in an area with very hard water. I can tell when our water softener needs more Morton Salt added because my hair will start getting dry and limp. Our water softening system and Morton Salt has truly been a lifesaver for my beauty routine.

Fortunately, fixing hard water issues is quite easy. Installing a water softening system in your home and filling it with Morton Salt will take care of the problem. The Sat comes in 40 pound bags and are easy to pour pellets.

If you are concerned abut the cost of a system, it is actually more expensive to forgo one since soft water will prolong the life of your pipes, appliances, and dishes. It also will make your beauty routine much easier and allow you to use less harsh shampoos and skin products. It also is incredibly easy to use a water softening system and the bags of Morton Salt that are used to fill it are very affordable. Below is a video I made about our system, how easy it is to use, and why I love it.

I find this very interesting! I’m definitely going to test my water now!
I used to have a client that sold products for hard water, and I found it fascinating. That’s great to learn about this system
I never even consider outside factors when I have beauty issues with my skin.
I never knew Morton made anything other than table salt. Good to know!
We’ve actually considered getting a water softener in our home, especially living in Florida!
The water in my neighborhood is horrible in general so I’ve been thinking about getting a water softener.
The one good thing about Detroit is we have a great water system so I don’t need to use something like this. Unfortunately Flint stopped using Detroit water and are now in a crisis. Morton is the name I’d think of if I needed this.
LOL – our water here in Arizona is so hard, it comes out in rocks! haha. We have a soft water system and it’s been a life saver – also helps with laundry too!
Very interesting product. I’m pretty sure it’s not available here where I live, but maybe I can something similar.
Intriguing product. Thanks for sharing!
I need to look into this. The water in my NJ locale is hard 🙁
I need to get a water softening system
Great post! Thanks for sharing:)
We need something like this!
I live in Hard Water Central, a softening system would be lovely!
Such a great post. I really need to look into this…I don’t think I have a huge issue with hard water, but I definitely get spotty dishes, so maybe I do!! Thanks for the info 🙂
Skin and hair definitely suffer from water that is too hard.
I remember many years ago when someone was selling a water system to my parents, they wanted us to buy their cleaning supplies and shampoos, too, because normal ones would foam too much or something. I guess now you can use whatever shampoo you want, and still get better results with soft water!
