Is hard water harming your hair and skin? If you have dry, limp, or brittle hair, or if you are suffering from patchy dry skin, your water might actually be to blame. Other signs of hard water are spotty dishes and buildup on your tub and shower. It happens as the result of mineral deposits in your water. About Hard Water

Hard water occurs when rainwater passes through the earth and picks up materials such as calcium and magnesium that can leave deposits, clog pipes, and damage appliances.  Those same deposits end up on you hair, skin, and dishes. Here is a glass of mine that got hard water spots when we failed to promptly refill our water softener with Morton Salt.  If you have hard water, these same deposits can really do a number on your hair and skin.

  1. I used to have a client that sold products for hard water, and I found it fascinating. That’s great to learn about this system

  2. The water in my neighborhood is horrible in general so I’ve been thinking about getting a water softener.

  3. The one good thing about Detroit is we have a great water system so I don’t need to use something like this. Unfortunately Flint stopped using Detroit water and are now in a crisis. Morton is the name I’d think of if I needed this.

  4. LOL – our water here in Arizona is so hard, it comes out in rocks! haha. We have a soft water system and it’s been a life saver – also helps with laundry too!

  5. I remember many years ago when someone was selling a water system to my parents, they wanted us to buy their cleaning supplies and shampoos, too, because normal ones would foam too much or something. I guess now you can use whatever shampoo you want, and still get better results with soft water!
