Have you ever wanted to bleach your brows? I gave it a try with Jolen Creme Bleach and loved it! Jolen also sent me a cute Conair 3X/1X Illuminated LED Mirror
Jolen Creme Bleach is specifically made for facial hair and can lighten facial hair or body hair in just ten minutes. It is also the #1 selling bleach brand in the World, celebrating 50 years now in the beauty aisle. It also has brand new packaging, including a bonus size product and a handy mixing cup to make mixing the bleach easy, especially if you are using larger amounts for different areas of the body.
Jolen Creme Bleach is gentle to the skin and leaves the skin soft and smooth. It is also easy to use at home. It takes just 10 minutes and the results last up to four weeks. Obviously, it is great to use if you have facial hair that you want to hide. For example, perhaps you have some chin hair that shows up. Bleaching it will make it less noticeable, but there are other ways to use it as well. For example, you can use it to add light streaks to your hair. Putting a light highlight streak framing the face can be fun and can really light up your look. You can also use it to lighten your eyebrows, which is what I did.
How to Bleach Eyebrows with Jolen Creme Bleach
If you dye your hair a lighter shade, Jolen can be a great way to also lighten the brows so that they better match. I dye my hair red with blond highlights and had never lightened my brows to match. But when I got my samples of Jolen Creme Bleach in the mail, I decided on a whim to give it a try. Since my dark hair tends to pick up red tones when bleached, I figured I could pretty easily get a nice red hint to my brows with a light touch of Jolen.
It really is was very easy, but the key is to do it small stages of a minute or so per application. Don’t go straight for 10 minutes with this or you might lighten things too much.
Start with your supplies. You will need:
(1) Jolen Creme Bleach Kit: I used the sensitive skin formula with Aloe Vera.
(2) Measuring spoons
(3) Cotton Swabs: Use these to apply the bleach to your eyebrows
(4) Cotton pads: Use to remove the bleach
Follow the directions on the box to mix up the bleach. The little included mixing cup and spatula is great for that!
Next wash your brow area and apply the bleach thickly to your eyebrows with a cotton swab. Be careful not to get bleach in your eyes. The mixture is thick enough that it won’t run, so you need not be concerned as long as you apply it carefully.
Leave the bleach on for one minute and then wipe a bit off to check. Keep in mind that wet brows will look darker, so you want to bleach until it looks a tad darker than what you are trying for. I went ahead and took all of the bleach off after a minute and 30, dried my brows and then took a look. Repeat the process one minute at a time until you get the amount of lightening that your desire. In my case, this was about 2.5 minutes total. If you want to bleach very dark brows, keep in mind that you could end up with some red tones. If you want to bleach to full blond, you will have to leave the bleach on longer, but be sure to keep checking every minute!
When you remove the bleach, wash the area with cold water to be sure that all traces are removed. Here are the before and after shots of my brows. I only wanted slight lightening to where they got a hint of red, so it isn’t super dramatic. I got exactly the shade I wanted! In the first photo, I have roots showing and you can see how my brows match my roots. After a quick bleach, I got perfectly reddish blond brows!
I was quite happy with my brow lightening results. You can buy Jolen Creme Bleach at CVS, Harmon, Rite Aid, ULTA, Walgreens, Walmart and other stores nationwide.
