Global Keratin Review

The Global Keratin (GK) C880 Curling iron is a quality iron with some nice extra features. The Global Keratin company also offers some nice styling aids, which I also gave a try.

GK 880 Curling Iron

The C880 curling iron features a 28mm barrel with tourmaline plates. It has a 360 degree swivel cord, to avoid cord tie ups (something I seem to be good at creating!) and offers an adjustable temperature from 122 degrees F – 410 degrees F for real nice control over just how much heat you end up exposing your hair to. Two extra features particularly stood out for me with this iron. First, aside from the temperature control, there is a digital LED display. Second, the iron includes a 360 degree spinner, which really make styling easier. The iron worked nicely for me. It operated smoothly, and and the heat adjustment allowed me to use lower heat to avoid damaging my hair. Likewise, those who need high heat to get a curl have the option of going to rather high heat with this product. Global Keratin also makes a neat 4 in one curling iron set.

Aside from the iron, I was really impressed with the two Global Keratin styling products that I tried. First, I gave the GK Leave in Spray a try.  This conditioning spray works quite well as a basic smoother and light detangler. I used it before drying and using the iron, and found that my hair stayed soft and manageable. I have fine hair, so flyaway hair and frizzies are an issue for me. The leave in spray was a welcome product for taming my wild hair.

Global Keratin Serum

 

Next, I tried the GK Serum.   The serum can be used on either wet or dry hair to add shine and manageability. I liked it best when lightly smoothed over dry hair and then brushed through. The shine is great, and the serum seriously helped avoid frizz. Both the Global Keratin serum and the leave in spray have been getting nice consumer reviews as well (see the links for more reviews).
