My Beauty Diary – Summer Series Part 3 – Wanderlust

I love travel with a passion. Exploring new landscapes and immersing myself in different cultures feeds my soul. I grew up in a family where travel played a significant role in our lifestyle, and that passion I developed as a child to see this world has only expanded. Living in a different country to the one you were born in, gives birth to a unique perspective. I see the world as my home and consider myself a global citizen and as my aunt called me, ‘transatlantic’ (I like that expression and so I am running with it). London to Miami to NYC, each city I’ve called home has influenced me but New York has allowed me to grow into who I am today. I definitely have a NY state of mind. One of the first qualities that I fell in love with is the work ethic, nowhere works as hard as this city. As a workaholic I’m in my element, I absolutely love working, the joy of living my dream and purpose fills me up daily. However, taking time to recharge is necessary in order to thrive and I am learning to master this skill. So for the workaholics out there this is for you, it’s time to reset. Let’s talk travel…

Come fly with me…..When I am flying long haul I actually start prepping my immune system weeks before (if the schedule allows). I love the ReHab Shots from Juicepress, a powerful immune boost of cayenne, lemon and ginger. I also add chlorophyll to my mineral water and take this on the plane, by increasing red blood cell counts, which can carry more oxygen around our bodies, chlorophyll is a superb travel companion. This superpower antioxidant which is rich in vitamins A, C, E and K is a skin lovers dream and why It’s been a continuous part of my skincare for years. Like everything it is all interconnected and some of the other benefits include cancer prevention, reducing inflamation, controlling body odor, boosting energy and even weight loss. I previously used grapefruit seed extract, which is anti inflammatory and anti viral, however while recently having covid I tried Olive Leaf extract and it was transformative. So, I am going to travel with this powerhouse and see how well we fly together. I am laughing as I write this…I need a suitcase just for my supplements (I hear my dad laughing), well not quite, but they are my precious cargo. Wink to the camera.

My in-flight lovers are multi purpose, my favorite is Honey Girl Organics Face & Eye Creme. My skin drinks up this rich combination of organic beehive ingredients and botanicals. A little goes a long way and it feels just as nourishing around the delicate eye area as it does on my face and neck, especially good for that extra moisture needed at high altitudes. This is one of my most beloved moisturizers in the world. This summer I have been using their Rose C Serum from The Rose Collection. The combination of organic Jojoba oil, Marula Oil, Prickly Pear Oil and Rosehip Oil makes this serum feel light on the skin, absorb effortlessly and work wonders under make up, my skin radiates in gratitude. I mentioned the Facial Toner with Propolis, Rose and Neroli in part 2 and I will be bringing this face spray on my travels as it just feels so refreshing on the skin. I can also use this to tone after cleansing, which makes it part of my multi purpose crew. Honey Girl Organics is based in Hawaii and one of my most cherished skincare lines that I have been using for over a decade. I love everything they create, their story is beautiful and I would direct you to discover more at www.honeygirlorganics.com

One of my favorite quotes from Anthony Bourdain that I want to share is, “If I’m an advocate for anything, It’s to move, as far as you can, as much as you can, across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, MOVE”.

May you all enjoy moving, whatever that means to you….glowing every step of the way.

Natural raw light kisses my Honey Girl Organics Skin while on my bike…

  1. I love to travel, too. We traveled a lot when I was growing up, and now I am bringing my kids up traveling. So far we have only stayed stateside with them and we have a goal to take them to all 50 states before they turn 18. It’s a great idea to build up the immune system before flying. Lately we’ve been driving instead of flying but will be on a flight again soon.

  2. We aren’t big travelers but this year we have traveled a lot more than usual and it has been so great for all of us. I definitely think boosting immunity before you go is a great idea.

  3. It is so good to hear from you Laura. I love that, yes amping up the immune system prior really makes a difference. Happy Traveling to you all! xoxo

  4. Hello Stephanie, thank you for sharing. I love that idea and America has such an incredible and vast landscape and offers such variety. I am excited for this goal. Enjoy it all. (and yes amping up the immune system just makes flying more effortless).
