Glowing – nourishment, movement and transformation. The 2021 edition.

My journey home. And here we are. A year later. All of us transformed by this experience individually and therefore collectively and some more then others. How we use this transformation is our choice. In this 4 part series I am going to open up with you about my own journey during this time and how it’s allowed me to evolve into who I am today. And who I am today is a woman standing fearlessly in her power, embracing her authentic self unapologetically, because I finally understand my worth. By allowing my light to shine brighter then ever I ignite the light in others, just by being myself. To glow fully, from the inside out, is to embrace your unique essence and share that with the world.

So let’s turn up our light and glow together. United. I am going to start by keeping it simple with my 3 favorite products for the new year. I am excited to share these discoveries with you. This past year allowed me to fine-tune in many ways, and one of them was understanding that you don’t need endless (or the most expensive) products for flawless skin. Simplicity. Ahhhh just saying that word is calming.

Let me introduce you to a cleanser that I would go as far as calling my favorite yet. I’m absolutely loving Acure ‘Incredibly Clear Charcoal Lemonade Facial Scrub’. We are still masking up here in NYC and will be for the foreseeable future and so my skin needs extra attention. When I arrive home, (after washing my hands), I automatically wash my face and this cleanser cleans deep and does not dry my skin out. It feels invigorating with the lemon and blueberry essence all over my face. Don’t be fooled by the word scrub, it’s gentle enough for every day. The result is very clean, happy skin.

Checking out my glow. In my bathroom at the Naples Grande Hotel.

While at the Naples Grande spa over Christmas I got a facial and was reminded of the benefits of toner. I went years without using toner in its formal capacity, although I always use facial sprays (which do not replace this part of a skincare regime, rather they simply compliment it). The conversation with the esthetician reminded me of the benefits of traditional toner. I am keeping it simple with Thayers ‘Witch Hazel, Rose Petal toner’. The goal is always to maintain small pores and this certainly assists in that goal. Toner also temporarily tightens skin, aids skin in retaining moisture, soothes the skin and yes, minimizes the appearance of pores which results in smoother looking skin.  We love that.

Late last year I started sleeping with the ‘Vitamin E skin oil’ by Jason. At the time my skin was breaking out as I navigated masks and the gym and so when in Wholefoods one afternoon I saw this oil. I decided to take it back to the absolute basics with pure vitamin E. I’ve not looked back, I even used it in the hot climate in Naples at night time. My skin is glowing. In fact it’s never looked more healthy and radiant.

I recently started using SuperBeauty by Moon Juice. I am only half way through the months supply. I have been fine-tuning and educating myself on the incredible skin benefits of amino acids. While reading the ingredients I realized I was using all of the supplements individually and so it worked out to be more cost effective to purchase SuperBeauty. I will be sharing this and other fantastic, life changing supplements I am using now in part 2 of my series. This is a little teaser to wet your appetite (as my broadcast journalist professor used to tell me). I love hearing from you all and send you love always. Until next time…shine your light. We need you.
