My Beauty Diary – Summer Series Part 2 – Celebrate.
Disclosure: Representatives of Mychelle and Du Wop cosmetics have provided products for this post.
My Beauty Diary celebrates ten years this year and I want to say thank you to everyone who has joined me on this nourishing and fulfilling holistic journey. I appreciate each and every one of you. From NYC to LA to the Bahamas to Italy to London and everywhere in-between, It has been a joy to take you behind the scenes and show you how I stay camera ready as a model and actress. As a vegan, my approach to beauty is from the inside out and this is the foundation to how I thrive and live my best life, as my best self. While preparing for part 2 of my summer series I reflected on who I’ve grown into. There’s a quote I love, (source unknown), “Confidence is feeling safe to be yourself” – so as we celebrate ten years I am also celebrating this expanded version of who I’ve evolved into and this is where I live now. Vibrating even higher, living in my joy with a gratitude mindset, aligned with self and source and knowing my worth. This is the ultimate beauty enhancer because self worth gives birth to your inner power and magic and purpose and the most magnetic glow. I came home to myself and I’ve never been happier. So let’s play….
For Part 2 of this summer series, (read Part 1 here), I am going to take you inside my make-up bag. I have rarely shared how I use make-up because the focus is always on healthy skin. However, what make-up we use can either dilute all our hard work or enhance it. This is why I am as selective with my make-up choices as I am with every other area of my beauty regime. First let’s prepare the canvas. Quo the music, ‘Love Yourself’ by Londrelle (an artist that you should definitely get to know. I have been meditating to this song lately).
One of my favorite skincare brands that I have shared many times with you is Mychelle Beauty. I have been using cleansing oil on and off for a number of years now and this summer my skin has fallen in love with the Mychelle Perfect C Cleansing Oil. It feels so gentle as I massage the oil into my skin and it transforms into a creamy lather. Removing all that city girl pollution while hydrating my skin with L-Ascorbic Acid, Omega rich Baobab Oil and Tamanu Oil. I follow this with Honey Girl Organics Facial Toner, with Propolis, Rose and Neroli. It removes excess cleanser while continuing to hydrate and keep the complexion clear by balancing sebum production. My skin glows lovingly in gratitude. My passion for Vitamin C serums runs deep and I have to say they have been a game changer. I am using the Mychelle Beauty Perfect C PRO Serum, now my favorite, this hard working vitamin C is formulated at 25% to help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, (and this is how we prevent them because my beauty diary is all about prevention), my skin looks brighter and more even toned. I apply Perfect C PRO immediately after toner and allow it to fully absorb before sunscreen and moisturizer so that it can work to combat exposure to free radicals and ultraviolet light throughout the day. I follow this with the Mychelle Beauty Ultra Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum, the combination of hyaluronic acid and rose hip oil feels like a drink on my skin. This is by far one of my absolute favorite serums to boost moisture levels.
Not all sunscreen is created equally, the commercial sunscreens contain ingredients that should be nowhere near your skin. I absolutely love the Mychelle Beauty Sun Shield SPF 50 (I mentioned in part 1 that I wanted to try this and I’ve been wearing it continuously and it is supreme). This sheer tinted, (I use light/medium), oil free formula, with 100% mineral broad-spectrum protection blends effortlessly, resulting in a healthy glow and a smooth, matte finish. My skin just feels good wearing this. I also use this on my décolletage to support the Mychelle Beauty Protect Sun Shield SPF 28. So now our skin is all loved up, let’s talk make-up.
I believe less is more and so my approach to make-up is always to compliment my features, rather then camouflage them. DuWop Cosmetics is one of my favorite make-up brands. I have been using DuWop for years and so I was very excited to try a few new products, which are now part of my permanent make-up squad. The Primer Stone is a solid powder primer with SPF 15 that is so easy to use and creates a flawless, pore-less base to build upon. This is a fabulous alternative to standard primers and feels so light on the skin, it’s compatible with both liquid and mineral foundations. The Reverse Eyeliner was the first product I ever used from DuWop and it has been a staple ever since, it is genius. This anti-aging eyeliner perfecting pencil is a colorless, matte pencil for underneath the eyes. Why is this a game changer? Well let me count the ways…..plumping fine lines, it improves the texture and appearance of the skin, and acts as a barrier to keep eyeliner in place. The result is a very smooth and flawless looking under eye. I have to say I love their skin rejuvenating Foundation of Youth for daily use when I need more coverage. I am a bronzer lover and so I was eager to try Bronzerush, I rarely use blusher, opting to contour and highlight only. Bronzerush has opened my mind to blusher again and I love playing with this bronzer and duo blushes. The buildable cheek tint that can be layered for your desired intensity works effortlessly with the finely milled bronzer. My skin looks gorgeous after using this combination. I am also finding the convenience of the compact a great travel companion. Let’s talk lips. I love my full lips with a passion and I am inspired to share this story for the first time. When living in Miami Beach and while waiting for my microdermabrasion facial I was told by a doctor that my lips are quote, ‘what every girl is asking for’ and could he mold them. I politely declined but smiled inside at how I was teased a little at school for my lip shape and now people want to artificially create my lips. So love up your lips, whatever the shape, with DuWop Icedteas, a translucent lip treatment that feels so nourishing and smells absolutely delicious. These are the foundational products that are keeping me flawless in the summer heat.
I finish with guava fruit extract and goji berry fruit extract to refresh and hydrate. Wherever I am and whatever I am doing, I spritz. Oh how I love to spritz darh-ling….Mychelle Beauty Fruit Enzyme Hydrating mist is my daily companion and keeps me reinvigorated while on the move….Embrace this moment. Soak up this gift called life and the magnificence of being alive, as you confidently enjoy your unique beauty and all you have to offer this world.

I am very minimal when it comes to makeup, too. Just a bit of concealer when needed, and mostly eye makeup to make them pop a bit. But I do put on a makeup with sunscreen daily. I have to living in South Texas where the sun is so brutal.
I started recently to pay more attention to my health in general and also the health of my skin, I am still learning how to properly do it. Loving the process….
Wow. You really do a ton to take crea of your skin. I really don’t do anything with mine. Unfortuntely, it shows.
I honestly do not use make up. I don’t go out much and I am pretty comfortable going out with a “bare” face. I do apply sunscreen though. Living in the tropics where it is sunny all year long can wreck havoc on my skin if I don’t use any protection.
I am super minimal when it comes to makeup too, especially since the pandemic. Before then I woudn’t go out unless I had a full face of makeup, but now I’m not as bothered x
It is great that you take such good care of your skin! Mychelle Beauty have some fantastic products – I definitely need to try more though!
