Veet Infini’Silk Home Laser Hair Removal

The Veet Infini’Silk home laser hair removal device is one of the newer laser IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) devices on the market. I have written quite a bit about various home laser hair removal devices and have also tried several of them. Veet sent me this one to review. Testing is always interesting, since I pick just one area to test in order to leave room for testing future devices. I tested the Veet Inini’Silk on my underarm over several months, since I have been using two other devices on my legs. But before we get to my results, first up is a bit about the device.

The Veet Infini’Silk works by generating pulses of light that target pigmented hair follicles and eventually kill the follicle. Because the device, like other home laser hair removal devices, targets pigment, it works best for those with light skin and darker hair. It also is not safe for use on darker skin or on skin that is deeply tanned because it can then cause burns. For safety, the Infini’Silk has a skin tone sensor that will prevent it from working on too dark of skin tones.

The Infini’Silk is FDA cleared for home use. It is rather easy to use, and offers 5 intensity settings. Veet advertises results within around 5 sessions, although I think that is rather ambitious. Normally laser hair removal take a good deal longer than that. With any of the devices, plan on several months of use to see highly noticeable results.

As for my experience, I was happy with it. The Veet Infini’Silk is very compact, which I liked. My Tria and the Silk’n Flash n’ Go are much bulkier. As you can see, the Infini’Silk fits in the palm of the hand. That also makes it great for taking along when traveling. The lamp end offers a decent size treatment area for the smaller size of the device. When I tested it, I found that levels 1 and 2 were really not even perceptible. 3 felt like mild heating and 4 and 5 felt like a stronger pulse of heat. These different settings allow you to find what you are most comfortable with. Ideally, you want to use the highest setting that you are OK with for the quickest results. I tended to stick with 3 or 4 on my underarms, but I would have used 5 on my legs, which are less sensitive.

How to use the Veet Infini'Silk

Results have been good for me over the period of several months. I am seeing a significant reduction in hair. I happen to be a good candidate for home laser hair removal, so I am not particularly surprised.

  1. Very interesting. I always wondered if these devices for at home use worked. I would love to get one for my face because I don’t mind shaving legs and underarms, but I’m kinda nervous about using one of these on my face.

  2. The Silk’n Flash n’ Go can be used on the face, and I think the Veet has an attachment that be purchased for facial use. I’ll have to check on that and update the review. I still don’t use my Flash n’ Go on the face though. I don’t like the idea of a laser anywhere near my eyes!

  3. Thank you, Carleen. I didn’t think about that. I guess when you have a professional treatment there is eye protection, but other than my sunglasses I don’t have any way to protect them plus I would need to see what I’m doing. Back to the drawing board!

  4. I had laser hair removal done professionally on my upper lip since I hate waxing and plucking. It sounds like you have had great results with this product. I’d definitely try this for my underarms, legs and even arms.

  5. I’d love something like this for my underarms. I don’t know if it would be right for my legs, arms and face, tho since the hair there is so light.

  6. I have this unit and love it. When I worked for the plastic surgeon’s office I got IPL treatments and the tech actually missed a few places on my legs. I have been using this and it has been so awesome to help with the spots she missed.

  7. I didn’t realize the time involved for a product like this. I guess I always thought it was zzzzip! and done. The good thing about it taking a few months means you’re probably not suffering in the meantime. interesting for sure!

  8. I’m obsessed with my Silk’N. I just went to change the cartridge last week and found I bought the wrong one =| You’d have thought my world ended. BE GONE ALL THE HAIR. I love how little this one is. It’d be SO perfect for underarms!

  9. I’ve always been curious about these but never took the leap. I would love it for my underarms mainly!
